Year 8 students win IET Faraday Challenge!
18th April 2017
Park View Year 8 students had the fantastic opportunity to take part in The Institution of Engineering and Technology Faraday Challenge event hosted by Greig City Academy. The event is supported by the Jack Petchey Foundation and is set up and run by a team of STEM professionals, where teams compete to win a prize for themselves and a trophy for their school.
Students had the opportunity to challenge their coding skills against other teams from other schools across the borough. They had to research, design and make prototype solutions to genuinely tough engineering problems.
The teams really enjoyed presenting their findings and justifying their ideas to the judges. Our students relished showcasing their ‘Park View Learner Skills’, gaining the most points of all the challenge teams and emerged as winners!
Our team now faces the challenge of representing Park View School at the finals this summer, against teams from across the UK - Well done Year 8 and good luck!
