Bloodhound Rocket Car Challenge
6th April 2017
A group of Year 7 and 8 students had the pleasure of taking part in the Bloodhound Rocket Car Challenge on Thursday 30th March.
Throughout the event, students worked tirelessly to research, design and build their own replica of the fastest car in the world, with the intention of racing it against other Haringey schools participating in the event.
The challenge required great teamwork and timekeeping skills. The participating teams learnt about Newton’s third law of motion, engineering, chassis design, how rockets work, and most crucially - mathematics to calculate the speed attained.
The students thoroughly enjoyed their experience, especially building and racing their model rocket cars and recording their speeds. We hope our streamlined cars’ record times will make Park View eligible to compete in the regional finals.
