Park View School has just finished its fourth consecutive year of the London School of Economics Tutoring Programme. The ten-week LSE tutoring programme consists of undergraduates at LSE coming in and mentoring our students in specific subjects after school.

This year, ten percent of Year 9 students were tutored in high level Mathematics to promote problem-solving skills. This provides students with the mathematics skills required for future Maths GCSE papers.

Year 9 Team Deputy and LSE programme coordinator Mr Ernest said, “It has been another great year working with the LSE and its tutors who were fantastic. The students did find the level of work more testing than previous years, however, with the help from the LSE tutors they all managed to find their way in the end. This level of work will help the students with their GCSEs in the future. The knowledge they have gained during the programme will also be used and shared in the classroom, peer mentoring and future study groups.”

For next year’s programme, Park View students will continue with more high level Mathematics as well as GCSE options in Science, Physics, Languages, and Business.
