On 5th July, after a productive week during Work Experience, all Year 10 students from Park View went on a visit to Haringey Sixth Form College in White Hart Lane, Tottenham. The aim of the day was to provide an insight to further education and the wide range of options available to students from Park View once they complete their Year 11 studies. Haringey Sixth Form College is a local education provider with a very progressive and positive outlook. Being based in Haringey, it plays a key role in the future development of many of Park View students.

The day proved to be a useful insight for all Year 10 students’ understanding of options ahead. They attended at least five different subject tasters throughout the day including Public Services, Sport, Health & Social Care, Applied Science, Business and Media.

The sessions were engaging, interactive and kept students on their toes as they learnt about future study options. Haringey Sixth Form College staff were on hand for Park View students to ask some searching questions. They enjoyed many things about the day:

“My favourite part of the day was the Public Services taster where I learnt about police coding. They made the session interesting and fun”

“What I enjoyed the most was the amount of engaging activities we all did in all the lessons and the fact we could do it with our friends”
