Cavendish Venues welcomed students interested in careers in events

On 5th February, students visited Cavendish Venues in preparation for their GCSE exams. Part of the curriculum is to visit real businesses to see how things are put into practice.
Students met with the Director of Sales - Paul Martins, who talked about the event industry’s current trends, his own journey through jobs in the industry, an overview of Cavendish Venues as a company and the staff structure.
Paul described the operations of Cavendish Venues catering division and it’s audio-visual partners and outlined particular examples of marketing strategy with focus on membership, and how returns on investment are achieved.
After a Question and Answer session students enjoyed a tour around the venue with the opportunity to take photos.
The students thoroughly enjoyed the visit and the information provided on the range and type of roles available within the events industry.
