The Winter Showcase was a huge success this year, with many students performing for the very first time. We had music, drama and dance showcased across all year groups and they sounded and looked fantastic!

We kicked off the show with ‘Heroes’ by David Bowie performed by the Year 8 band followed by a dance performance from the Year 9 girls. We had a record number of string players performing ‘County down’ and the new Year 10 GCSE classes performed nervously for the very first time.

Solo performances included Kristian, Tania and a violin duet from Logan Patterson, along with all GCSE music students performing a wide variety of music.

The Drama Department created five short drama pieces performed by students from Years 8 and 9. A short adaptation of ‘The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night’ was performed by the Year 7 Drama Club. We closed the show with two original pieces collectively composed by Rhythm Sticks.

Thank you to all who came and supported our students. Don’t forget to watch this space for much more from the Music Department - we never stop performing!
