A group of six very talented year 8 Park View students had the opportunity to participate in the Faraday STEM challenge.

This year our students had to tackle the challenge of developing Thorpe Park's most exciting attraction yet!

The proposed area within the Park wasn’t large enough to allow for a new rollercoaster, so students had to work as a team to research new ideas, design and develop a prototype model of their new ride attraction.

Our students came up with the idea of a mirror maze with many exciting sensors and colourful lighting to enhance the experience. The financial aspect was considered also and students really enjoyed thinking like engineers, solving many problems along the way.

After presenting their ideas to the judges, our Year 8 students were thrilled to be announced as the winners of the Faraday challenge 2018 for the second year running!

Teams from Woodside School, Heartlands school and Enfield County School also participated.

Thoroughly enjoyable day of STEM and cant wait to be invited back gain to defend our title.

Well done to students Ollie, Daniel, Sabaah, Fata, Stanley and Max.
