On Wednesday 23rd May, the Dance department along with Primary schools Earlsmead, West Green and Seven Sisters, put on a production of Life in The Jungle; a Park View adaptation of ‘The Jungle Book’.

In preparation for the show, the primary schools took part in dance workshops over the course of 8-10 weeks, where they worked on different parts of the story. The workshops were taught by Head of Dance at Park View – Ms Malcolm and Step into Dance teacher – Cynthia Lacordelle.

Not only did the Primary school students dance, sing and act in the production, they also created masks for their characters during their golden time at school.

This was truly a whole KS2 event as the students in Years 1 to 4 also participated in the production by making hand print leaves for the set.

On the day of the show, the audience were treated to a fantastic collaboration of dance, drama and a visual backdrop that transported the audience to truly experience ‘Life in the Jungle’.

One of the parents described the production as, “a wonderful and enjoyable evening, with an impressive display of talent, which was beautifully and imaginatively choreographed with a great choice of music!”

Well done to all the students involved, we are extremely proud of you!
