On Friday 14th June, forty-six Year 9 and 10 students set off for their qualifying expedition for their Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Award. For many, this was their first time not only in the countryside but also away from home.

Arriving in Amersham, we were greeted with a sudden downpour of rain yet the students were not phased, they set off on what would be a six-hour walking trip around the Chiltern Hills. With a few wrong turns and walks through cow and sheep fields, the students eventually made it to the campsite where despite their exhaustion they pitched, cooked and enjoyed some free time in the country.

Over the weekend, the students represented our school in the best possible way. They worked well as a team and were able to manage themselves and plan their walk appropriately.

Ms Stavrou, Ms Ahmet, Ms Cassidy, Mr Hamer, Ms Heath and Mr McWeeney are unbelievably impressed with our students and very proud of their accomplishments. A massive well done to the students and staff who helped  make the weekend such a success!
