Public service Day
14th June 2019
On 14th June, fifteen students from Year 8 and 9 along with thirty-two other schools across London Boroughs visited Alexandra Palace to take part in the annual Pan-London Youth and Public Service day.
The event encourages and benefits younger people providing a positive 2-way interaction between a range of different public services, which they may not be able to experience otherwise.
Different stalls offered us with different interactive activities and educated our students on what work essential services do on a daily basis. This included the work of police, paramedics and firefighters.
Some of the activities on the day included mountain biking, boxing, wheelchair sports and even table tennis. Students also got to sit in the driving seat of a fire engine, police car and police motorcycle.
This trip was truly inspirational and helped put into perspective all the exciting opportunities and occupations London has to offer.
