Park View Academy is a community school making rapid progress. It opened on the site of The Langham School in September 1999 as a fresh start school. We were identified as one of the 100 most improved schools in the country in 2005 and 2006, Haringey's most improved school at both key stages in 2007 and in the top 4% value added nationally for key stages 2 to 4 and top 2% for key stages 3 to 4 in 2008. In the final year of SATs examinations in 2008 our students performed above the national average in English, despite the fact that almost two-thirds of our students have English as an additional language.

So what have we put in place over the past years and what are our achievements to date?

• The quality of the teaching staff and the quality of teaching have improved radically;
• The school was designated Haringey's first full service extended school;
• Significant improvements in students' attendance to a point where we are now well above the national average;
• Our students have achieved significant success in sports and arts;
• The school has a state of the art Learning Centre for school and community use;
• The school will benefit from approximately £14 million as part of the Building Schools for the Future programme, due for completion in September 2010;
• Standards of discipline in the school are good.
