Park View Academy believes that by being the full service Extended school for Haringey we can build on the emerging popular and quality provision provided through the West Green Learning Centre, the highly praised inclusive learning strategy within the school and the history of well attended adult and student out of hours learning and sports activities.
This overview builds upon the knowledge, understanding and skills of the staff, linked professionals, families and students at Park View Academy. Consultation with local users and providers is regularly undertaken to ensure that the planning for the Extended School provision recognises local needs.
Extending Education at Park View Academy
As Haringey's Full Service Extended School, Park View Academy is engaged in a number of exciting changes which places us at the heart of Learning in the community.
What is a Full Service Extended School?
Extended Schools offer services to students, their families and local communities over and above the teaching of the curriculum during the normal school day. We open to the community early in the morning, in the evening, at weekends and in the holidays, with activities aimed at vulnerable groups or where current levels of provision are limited. This builds the community from within, contributes to the renewal of the neighbourhood and has a positive effect on educational standards.
