Park View School was offered the opportunity to have the award winning safeguarding organisation - The Safety Box, deliver an eight week high impact personal development and safeguarding program to our pupils.
The Safety Box programs are accredited through AQA and are a refined system of training and development to help young people and young adults develop important skills such as leadership, communication, team working, presentation, conflict resolution, personal development and problem solving.
As a school we recognise these extracurricular activities are some of the essential keys to success. They open doors to learning, and to opportunities in life, in addition to work. They are a platform on which to build employability skills and the gateway to future well-being and prosperity.
The school has been very lucky to receive this fully funded program supported by the Borough of Haringey and the Metropolitan Police to help our pupils succeed and above all, keep them safe on the streets.
The program ended with a celebratory award ceremony, which consisted of students receiving certificates for their achievements during the program. The ceremony also included guest acts from Reggae singer Marla Brown - daughter of legend reggae singer Dennis Brown, UK Queen of Gospel - Lurine Cato MBE and inspirational speaker Chris Preddie OBE.
