The UK is increasingly becoming ethnically diverse, however, racial inequality still exists. Park View has pledged to make an active effort to decolonise and critically challenge the curriculums we are delivering. This year, departments have been making changes within their curriculum to promote anti-racism and fight the many forms of racism that exist.
Tottenham has a multicultural population and contains one of the largest and most significant populations of Afro-Caribbean people. In 2006 a study found the Haringey postcode of N15 (our home) is the most ethnically mixed in Britain. The borough is home to an estimated 106 ethnic groups and unlike other parts of London, Tottenham is not home to any one dominant minority group.
Park View is aiming to embed an anti-racist curriculum that actively challenges pre-conceptions and discrimination.
The 'I AM' campaign has been designed to showcase the unique work that we are doing within the school and with external stakeholders.
As a school, we are shaping the future and we want our students to have absolute belief in themselves and provide them with absolute self-belief! This is just the beginning! The ultimate goal is to be the most anti-racist school in the UK. Join us on our journey!
