NFL Training
Over the past term, our Year 8 and 9 girls have been given the fantastic opportunity to be taught NFL (National Football League) or otherwise known as American Football.
Students had external NFL players visit our school to coach and teach them on how to play the game - NFL flag. All of the girls thoroughly enjoyed the sesions.
Our students were taught new skills and game play in a sport that is developing in the UK. They will have the opportunity to showcase the skills they have developed in a tournament at New River.
A huge thank you to HR Sports Academy, who arranged such invigorating sessions and incredible experiences for our pupils.
Our Year 9 boys’ football team won a bronze medal in the Haringey Schools 5-aside Football Tournament. A huge well done to the boys involved. We look forward to more great results in the future - with hopefully a gold win next time. Keep up the training!
The Year 7 & 8 girls’ football teams also competed in the Haringey Schools 5-aside Football Tournament, where both teams performed very well. We had some great individual performances from Taliyah in Year 7 and Mollie in Year 8. Vasilena in Year 8 also gets a special mention for her efforts in goal - well done!
Haringey Athletics
Our Year 9 and 10 athletics team successfully competed in the Haringey Schools Quad event for their age group. We had some excellent individual performances from Oli who won an overall individual bronze medal for a combined result. Deshawn for winning his 800 metres race and Rylan who finished third in his 800 metre race.
Well done again to all those that competed! We look forward to future events for another chance to compete.
Afternoon of fun!
Students from Years 7 to 9 were selected from PE lessons to take part in a rewards afternoon. Those selected had been showing dedication and outstanding commitment to learning in PE lessons throughout the term. Students enjoyed games such as Dodgeball, Invasion ball and Bulldog out on the Astro. They all had an amazing time and showed real enthusiasm in getting involved.
The PE department are hoping to arrange rewards afternoons every term, so there will be plenty more chances for other students to get involved!
Training with Spurs
Last half term, we welcomed coaches from the Tottenham Hotspur Foundation who delivered a two-day coaching camp for a select group of our students. This was an  amazing opportunity for our students who thoroughly enjoyed the sessions.
