My Passion for JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure by Juan

Why is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure great

What is JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure

First let me introduce you to JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure or, as it is also called, simply JoJo, JoJo is an anime, mostly based on the history of two families: The Joestars and The Brandos. JoJo is split into 8 different parts. The first five parts are already animated in anime while the 3 last parts of the show are still in manga. In every part we have a new main character, such as a member of the Joestar family. In the JoJo universe there are special abilities; some of them can be taught and some come from a special arrow or are developed along the life of the character, these abilities include…

Hamon: Mostly used against Vampires, Hamon is a breathing technique. A sunlight energy, Hamon is the main weakness of a vampire because the sunlight energy on it makes the vampire melt as if he made contact with the sun. Hamon can also be used to heal its user from broken bones. The downside of Hamon is it requires breathing, making underwater fights harder for Hamon users. Some objects are Hamon transmitters, like metal, liquids and living things.

Vampires: Vampires are extremely powerful creatures in JoJo because of their extremely high regenerative capacity, strength and speed. Vampires have unique abilities like BloodDrain. Vampires mostly use their fingernails to drink blood from other humans or sometimes animals.

Ripper Space laser eye: This ability is a little bit confusing but, as shown in the episodes, it appear to let the user shoot a pink laser from his eyes containing vampire cells, possibly infecting the person injured by it. It's also shown that these lasers can be deflected with simple glass cups, the user can shoot two lasers at a time one from each eye.

Vampires can lower their body temperature to below 0, making any contact with them extremely cold, they can use it to freeze their enemies by simply touching them with their hands. They can also easily break the ice killing the person instantly. Vampires may sound really powerful but they have three main weakness: Hamon, the sun and UV light.

Pillar Men: Pillar Men are like elder vampires. They have the same abilities as a common vampire but are extremely strong. There are, in total, four Pillar Men and each one has his unique ability, for instance: wind control, shining bone blade, extremely hot blood vessels and the ability to simple consume every living being they touch. The pillar men are extremely powerful and dangerous.

Ultimate Life Form: The Ultimate Life Form is the perfect creature. It was shown once in the anime and to achieve this the user must get a special stone called Red Aja. The Ultimate Life Form can create everything they want, for example turn their hand in a squirrel or create wings or shoot piranhas. The Ultimate Life form makes the user immortal. The only way it can be “defeated” is by sending it into the space, making it freeze and fly forever with no chances of coming back to Earth.

Stand Users: Stands are manifestations of your fighting spirit. Every stand has its unique ability. Stands are mostly like “ghosts” that appear behind his user. Some stands, when not fully developed, only work in a type of auto mode, simply protecting the user from any danger. Stands are shown in the anime (parts 3 – 8). Stands have different status: some have a brutal strength but a short range, some having a long range.

Downsides of JoJo

JoJo has some downsides. For example, it’s difficult to understand most of the abilities because, as it says in the title, it’s truly bizarre. Some people dislike JoJo for the fact that it’s an anime.

Another downside is that JoJo is dubbed in Japanese, but you can find English versions in some places like adult swim or Netflix. JoJo can get a bit repetitive sometimes because sometimes you can start to predict what will happen, making the show a little bit boring.

Great things about JoJo

JoJo is a pretty nice show because it keeps introducing the audience to new and creative abilities and smart solutions to the characters’ problems. Every part of JoJo introduces us to a new antagonist and protagonist, each one with his unique abilities making the anime way more interesting. In some parts, characters from other episodes show up to join the main character’s adventure, for instance on part 6 we can see a relationship between the main villain of part 1 and 3 and the main villain from part 6.

The main characters of JoJo

In JoJo there are a lot of main characters and main villains. The main characters of part 1-5 are: Jonathan Joestar, Joseph Joestar, Jotaro Kujo. Josuke Higashikata, and Giorno Giovanna. Something you may notice is that every character name besides Giorno starts with a Jo, and the surname of Joestar gives them the nickname of JoJo. Giorno Giovanna is the only main character that isn't a fully Joestar. In part 6, 7 and 8 the main characters are Jolyne Kujo (son of Jotaro Kujo) Johnny Joestar and Josuke.
