Trip to University of Cambridge

This half term, a group of our talented Year 11 science students visited the University of Cambridge and the prestigious Cavendish Laboratory. Our students had the opportunity to attend workshops and lectures by leading Cambridge lecturers and graduates on some of the most advanced concepts and problems confronting science today.

The possibility of developing magnetic levitation trains in the United Kingdom using superconductors, the human impact on global warming in Antarctica, and common construction errors were all discussed. Our students left the sessions with more questions than answers, but they all appreciated the creativity involved in solving real-world problems using scientific inquiry skills.

Our students also got a taste of university life and were shown around typical student housing, as well as receiving advice on how to apply to Russell Group universities!
